The Klanken Festival highlights the newest contemporary music and fine arts.

The event is held annually at the Maastricht Conservatory. Everything started in 2004 when the composition students of Robert HP Platz had organized the Klanken Festival for the very first time. Since then the festival has grown constantly and built up an international net of young composers, conservatories, art colleges and other institutions. With Maastricht lying in the heart of the euregio, the geographical location of the festival plays a key role in attracting talent from the neighbouring countries.

We are glad to present Klanken Festival 2010.

Klanken 2010 will include; concerts presenting works by students of Manfred Trojahn and José M. Sánchez-Verdú from the “Robert-Schumann-Musikhochschule Düsseldorf”, works by composition students of Michel Fourgon from the “Conservatoire Royal de Liége”, works by students of Robert HP Platz from “Conservatorium Maastricht”, Music theatre by composers in residence at Foundation “Muziek als Theater- Amsterdam”, Art Media installations and Performances by students of Gunnar Friel from "University of Applied Sciences Düsseldorf" and an exhibition of paintings by students of the “Ecole Supérieure des Arts Saint-Luc (Liége)”.

There will be also research presentations by master students of Maastricht Conservatory.
